Zuimei and I have finally taken the plunge and purchased a house in Japan! As part of my joining the FIRE movement, and trying to break free of the financial bonds that tie us down we’ve purchased a house for considerably less money than it would have cost us here in Canada.
The house was only around $80,000 Canadian which for reference was less than the down payment on the semi-detached house on Gerrard St.
It sits on just less than half an acre and includes a detached garage and storage. The house needs renovations and the yard desperately needs some love but with not being able to work in Japan that is fine with me.
