Autopsy fails to find cause of death in Taser incident

That is the coward’s way of saying “the taser killed him, but we are terrified that Taser International will sue our asses off.” The funny thing is that the Ontario deputy chief coroner, James Cairns, sees no isssues with tasers, in fact he has become one of the country’s leading experts who enjoys a special relationship with Taser International. They, and another company closely linked to them paid to have Dr. Cairns come and lecture on “excited delirium”, which the company uses as an excuse for why people die after being tasered.

The Globe and Mail reported, ” Dr. Cairns said he doesn’t believe his participation at the conferences is a conflict of interest. He said he attends the conferences on vacation time and paid his own way to attend the first one.”

This would not be a conflict of interest if Dr. Cairns was not involved in any taser related investigations. However as soon as he is, it becomes a conflict. If I was investigating airplanes that suddenly lost their wings, and was paid by a plane manufacturer to lecture on how safe planes were, don’t you think that would be conflict of interest?

What do you think?
