I added a new movie to my list tonight, Paris is Burning
It’s about the gay community in NYC in the 80’s and the Balls. The Balls are like fashion/dance/theatre competitions. It reminds me a little of when Zuimei and I first met. When we used to hang out in the village at the Timothy’s (which is gone now) and we knew everyone and there was a sense of community. There is something about being outsiders that forces you to become a community.
